Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Lift Truck Operator to t ransport raw materials and finished product to and from the finishing department to ensure that the flow of product is uninterrupted.

Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
Transport raw materials from storage areas and relocate to the finish line using the shop floor.
Follow FIFO (first in first out) concept when retrieving chemicals and raw materials for use on the finishing line and defecting unless instructed otherwise by supervisor or lead.
Offload packaged finished material and relocate to the staging area using the shop floor.
Assist in transporting milled WIP to Finishing Infeed.
Assist in transporting finishing/defecting material from the line
Assist in transporting defecting boards to and from WIP areas.
Open WIP Materials when necessary.
Place packaging materials in appropriate locations when necessary
Locate pallets in the shop floor system and issue to the appropriate line.
Pick up bolsters from the floor area and place in designated locations once material has been removed from them.
Empty dumpsters and transport used materials as needed.
a. Used sandpaper is to be placed in the outside dumpster; never in the compactor.
Follow specific instructions on each order.
Achieve set quality standards. Keep machines and work areas clean and free of dust.
Perform other requested duties as requested by lead or supervisor.

Must be a team player
Take an active role in committees.
Cross-training for other jobs on the finishing line.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
Must be able to stand for 8 - 12 hours a day.
Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the day.
Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.
Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements.
Must pass vision screening.
Other Requirements:
Basic reading, writing, and math ability.
Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations
Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software.
Training Requirements:
On the job training
Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant specific training.
